About me

I was raised in a house filled with art and art making.  Growing up it was natural for me to create art or make music as a way to relax, as well as a way to work through a problem.

However, art and music were not my only interests. I graduated college with a BS in zoology (minors in chemistry and math) and started out with a career in cancer research. After my three children were born, I decided to switch to my other love, and began selling my art jewelry to shops and galleries full time.

Today, I make art for myself.  It feels like magic to capture a moment in time on paper.  It feels unbelievable to catch the light and make it two dimensional.  It feels extraordinary to trap an emotion on the surface of a painting.  Painting offers me the perfect way to discover and interpret my world.

It's my hope that the stories I’ve painted can inspire those who view my work to look at the world with new eyes, to see something they haven’t noticed before, and maybe to discover something new about themselves.
